The Party

I'll speak for Maren and say that she had a pretty fun birthday. We had plans to have a backyard barbecue, but we ended up showing the house that night, so it didn't work out as we had planned. Instead, we partied hardy at Grandpa's house.

Earlier that day, Maren helped me make the cake.Is she not one of the cutest things you ever did see? She cracks me up.Three cute girls.Cousin Seth made this 'fence' for Everett. How nice of him.Time for cake! Maren's butterfly cake turned out looking pretty good!Maren thinks her new vacuum from Grandma and Grandpa is pretty cool (as do her cousins and sister). She also got a broom and bubble mower. Sheesh, I'll never have to clean again!One of these balls popped, and they were the head-wear of choice. Awesome Aunt Jess made Maren some pajama bottoms to match her cousin Maybe's.

Unfortunately, the night ended with Grandma taking a ride in an ambulance to the hospital. She occassionaly has 'episodes' from something that she ate that causes her to pass out and stop breathing. Pretty scary stuff. I'm happy to report that this one wasn't so bad and she was able to go home a short time later.
