Let There Be Cake

We had lots of fun celebrating Ellie's birthday. We had cupcakes with Nick's family on Sunday night. Nate showed Ellie how to lick the frosting off the candles, you know, the important things. Ellie got this cool bed for her babies from Grandma and Grandpa. There are already babies sleeping there (which do not include Maren). She also got some clothes from Grandma and a dress from Ryan and family.

On Monday we made another cake and had my side of the family over for a birthday party. Ellie was a big help cleaning the beaters, bowl, and spatula - someone's got to do it!
And here is the fruits of our labors. It turned out pretty cute, if you ask me. Ellie wanted a princess cake. She got the dress from mom and dad the day before and she's worn it ever since.
Ellie got her very own laptop computer, along with some beautiful dresses from Grandma and Grandpa and some fun clothes from Dennis and Jeremy (and their families). Thank you to all who came and showered our little girl with love! We feel so blessed to be surrounded by our families.

As a side note, I took Ellie to her 3 year check up this morning. She has finally gained weight! She is now in the 33% for weight (she was 2%), and 63% for height. She is a healthy girl!
