Yuba Lake

We had an awesome weekend. Thursday evening we headed to Yuba Lake, along with 3 of my siblings and their families. We camped overnight and very much enjoyed our time away from home. My parents joined us for the evening.

We didn't sleep much (we were camping, did I expect anything more?). Maren was up until at least midnight, chatting happily and climbing all over us.

After a delicious camp breakfast we headed to the water. We kayaked, swam, and played on waverunners. My girls were great sports and tried and enjoyed everything. The only sad part about the event was Ellie's beloved flip flop got sucked away into the mud, never to be seen again. Here's Ellie going for a ride in the kayak with her aunt:

There she is again with Nick and cousins.

My chill baby. He was a great tag along, even though he was so very tired.

This one was also too tired for words. She finally crashed (with a little encouragment from her Aunt Cyn). She obviously enjoyed her lunch.

What? We had a good time? You can't really tell from this photo. It looks like we are torturing our girls. This was taken right before we left late in the afternoon, so we were all tuckered out from a fun day of play in the sun. And I love waverunners. Fun. Time.

We slept so well in our own beds. The rest of our weekend was pretty low-key. Nick got a lot done in the yard and then we enjoyed it. I have to say, this is my favorite thing about summer - late nights out on the cool grass.
